Welcome to Acorns St John’s
We provide an affordable and exciting Ofsted registered breakfast and after school club for children from Reception class to Year 6. The club will continue to be held in the school hall and Year 3. We also use all the outdoors areas as well. Collection and drop-off are from the outside hall door/year 3 door. There is plenty of entertainment for both young and older children, including games consoles, games, TV, small world, arts and crafts, sports or just time to relax. We have adult-led activities at each session, such as, crafts, games, group activities and many more.
How to book
If you are interested in booking a place for your child at Acorns, please sign in to Kids Club HQ. The links are at the top of the page or can be found on the Acorns Facebook page. One off sessions are available and you are able to book 30 minutes before sessions start, depending on availability. If you require guaranteed, regular sessions please choose ‘book a contract’ or for irregular sessions please choose ‘book an ad hoc session’. Please read the booking terms and conditions carefully before booking, including our cancellation and sickness policy. Payments should be made by card or childcare vouchers. If your voucher scheme is not listed, please let me know and we can sign up.
Important Information
Staff are trained in paediatric first aid and have regular safeguarding training. We can offer the club sessions on a regular and one-off basis, although sessions will need to be booked in advance on the Kids Club HQ website. Acorns is owned by myself, Sarah Goldie, a fully qualified teacher of 20 years. Our new manager is Sara Hankinson and we are pleased that some previous staff remain working at the club, which will mean consistency for the children.

Please be aware that fees are subject to change.
We offer a 10% discount for siblings. This will automatically be deducted upon booking.
Breakfast and evening snacks will also be included in the price of each session.
A selection of breakfast cereals, toast, pancakes, brioche, croissants, crumpets, fresh fruit, milk and water are available for the breakfast session. Children are given the choice of different snacks to put in their snack bags in the afternoon, one of which we encourage to be a piece of fruit. Some examples of the choices are: Fruit, raisins, cheeses, crackers, rice cakes, yoghurts, pancakes, breadsticks, toast, potato cakes, Soreen.
The snack choices vary weekly.
A selection of fresh fruit and vegetables are served with all snacks. Milk and water are available throughout the session.
