Big Write

If a child can't talk about it..... they can't write about it!

Big Write homework, may take the form of "Talk for Writing." The homework may just be the task of discussing your child's ideas for a story or piece of writing. There is no need to write anything down as the writing will need to be independently completed in class.

There are some tips and ideas below to help with their writing.

Use these connectives to join sentences together.
Make sure you use lots of description in your writing.  This will make your story much more interesting.
You can start your story in lots of different ways.  When you read a book at home look at how it starts and then see if you can use that starter in one of your own stories.
Think about your characters, the setting and what will happen at the beginning, the middle and the end.
