Well done to the winners of our Book Fair competition for designing a book cover. They won a £5 voucher to spend at the fair.
Celebrating Roald Dahl Day
In Y5, the children study the novel, 'The lion, the witch and the wardrobe'. They were lucky enough to visit Kirkham Grammar to see a performance of the book.
Year 5 worked with 'The Old Electric Theatre' in Blackpool. They experienced a drama session which supported them with playwriting. Some members of 'The Old Electric Theatre' took away our children's playscripts and turned them into a performance which Year 5 enjoyed watching.
Mr Parker and some Year 4 children have worked closely with the Royal Shakespeare Company to perform in a play, 'The Tempest', at the Grand Theatre.
Some of our students have completed the 'Lancashire Reading Trail'. They were awarded a signed book by a local librarian in assembly.
World Book Day 2024
National Storytelling Week 2024. We had a storyraid throughout the morning with three storytellers moving around school and suprising each class with three stories. KS2 classes had a fantastic workshop during the afternoon.
Mrs Chisnall invited our Reception class to join in with story time at our local library. The event was enjoyed by all!
Following the visit to the library, each child received a pack from the Book Trust.
In March, our Year 6 children performed in the play 'Much ado about nothing' on stage at 'The Grand Theatre' in Blackpool.
